DD1 is getting to that age, a few spots, lank hair-loves reading and factual books. Any good ones out there atm?

I'd go with Bobbi Brown Teenage Beauty. (If you don't mind an American book.)

Be Beautiful is great with lots of illustrations.

any other advice? She is very averse to soap and water atm, but I think that will all change pretty abrubtly when she starts secondary next year, looking at the polished tresses swaying into the school next door.

She has a very boring long straight haristyle, what is a good way to find a good style for her?

I am a lost cause so not a useful role model for her.
