Puffin Post/Pufflings; which one for very able but naive nearly 7 year old?

She often reads stuff aimed at 9+ readers, or a childrens newspaper, but the next week can be into Rainbow Fairies for a few days!. I am thinking of getting her a subscription to one of the above but don't know which would suit her most. Socially she is popluar with her (Largely similar) group of friends but isn't very "streetwise" IYKWIM. Does anyone have any thoughts about which to choose? Thanks.

DS2 is 6 and has Pufflings. He is a pretty able reader (school estimate his reading age to be around 9) but is quite happy with the book choices for Pufflings.

This month's choices included Spy Dog, Killer Cat and Jeremy Strong (I can't remember the other choices sorry!) so you can see the level that they are at.

DS2 isn't remotely streetwise, and could probably reader harder texts, but it isn't always about stretching them is it? He loves the website too, and was delighted this month when a joke that he had sent into the website was printed in the magazine

dd (just turned 8) has had Pufflings for the last year but is now graduating to PP - for the last few months she's found the book choice a bit frustrating as she's read most of them or they're a bit too easy and she whizzes through them at a rate of knots

She's not at all streetwise though and is emotionally quite young - she adores the jokes in Pufflings

at your dd's age and stage I'd have thought Pufflings would be best for this year and then reassess this time next year

Dd is nearly 9 and has had Puffin Post for a year. I think that a lot of the articles are aimed at 10+, and I would think that since it's about enjoyment rather than "stretching" them, she would have been better off with pufflings.

Thanks for the replies, good advice. The only reservation I have regarding pufflings is judging by the books that you listed, domestic, are the books biased towards boys? DD "Just doesn't do boy stuff" in her words.
