can anyone recommend a pretty basic book that answers my sons questions about where the sun goes at night and why the moon is only half there some nights ?
thanks !

Haven't found one myself apart from picture books with sun coming up and moon on last pages.

We've got an excellent Dorling Kindersley space book for older children and we just look at the pictures and talk about it. Have seen some pop up ones too but again for much older children - physics is a tricky topic!

Some books about seaside will explain stuff like neap tides and pull/push of moon and sun with good pictures forgot to say!

Do you have a globe? Could you maybe explain with the help of a globe and a beachball or similar? (Or an orange with countries drawn on it and a beachball - and an assistant to wield the orange, maybe!)

We've got this one.
