Other pupils in sons YR6 class are reading the Da Vinci Code. He reads Morpugo/Chris Ryan Code Red/Horrowitz. He asked me if he could read this, I haven't read it and have tried googling to see other opinions. My instinct is to refuse him but as I refuse 18/16 Xbox games that other kids play on would be willing to consider if there is anyone out there who could help? Would be appreciated. Thank you

It is pretty violent tbh - I would n't encourage ds (12) to read it and anyway think they'd miss many of the references the plot.

Violent, nasty, far too old omo.

Poorly written imo, and certainly not something I would go out of my way to make available, but am not sure I would ban my 11yo from reading something he really wanted either; books not having quite the addictive/graphic effect of games.

Hmm. There is violence and frankly I thought it was rather rubbish and predictable. I would probably let him go ahead he is reading good authors otherwise so Dan Brown wont kill him just make him appreciate Morpugo much more. Grin
