Hi im Branavy and Im actually a student who needs some advice on books for 4 year olds. I have child Development coursework, and I need to design and make a book for a 4 year old.

I just need to ask what types of things I should include in my book. Maybe rhyme, numbers and colours. Its going to be a non-fiction book!

Thanks any hints or tips is much appreciated and if its possible any books for 4 year olds that you might recommend?
Thanks Branavy;)

hello

My nearly 4 year old likes mazes and also Osbourne puzzle books (puzzle mountain, puzzle ocean etc). He is quite bright for his age so at nursery he is learning reading and writing phonically. He also like spotting things in books kind of like easier Where's Wally.

It's a tricky age because you could be designing
a) an early reader for child to enjoy on their own or with support
b) a text-based bedtime story in chapters (not if non-fiction I guess)
c) a picture book for parent and child to enjoy together whilst parent does the reading

I guess you need to decide between a and c (or some non-fiction books are hybrids with two levels of text).
