MRI Spine results

Hi, my 6 year old was admitted on Friday so they could do an urgent full spinal MRI. It's been getting worse for a long time. He says it's an aching back.

They let us go home Fri eve and said the scan needs reporting on and they will be in touch, as two radiologists need to review as paeds.

Well, I've still not heard anything. Surely if it were a tumour like they wanted to rule out, they would have phoned by now? Don't they normally tell you asap if they see something?

Does anyone know. Thanks.

Hello
We were admitted on Fri night but had to wait a day or two for a specialist radiologist for my DCs MRI to be done. I wonder if they are waiting for a specialist to review your DC scan and they're not in until Monday? The ones on duty on the weekend in most hospitals are standard adult MRI people and spinal things on a child are very tricky to be sure about.
Did they use the contrast dye in your child's scan? Did he have any other symptoms?
I hope they ring you asap, and I hope the news is good. If it's not, there are lots of people on here to support you.

So it started about 4/5 months ago he would say he has a tired back sometimes but very infrequent. I thought nothing of it. Thought it was his mattress, got a new mattress topper. Long story short, the last month it's now every day. And through the day and mainly before bed/early in the morning. He now says it's an aching back and will rub a particular disc and he stretches a lot. Its sore on that disc when they examine him. He says he feels tired. They thought he looked pale on Friday so wanted to do some more bloods even though his bloods were fine the week before. He has no neurology, as in cord symptoms. If his scan shows nothing, I am baffled? Hes having to have Calpol 3 times a day now. I hope you guys are okay x
