Happy International Childfree Day

Obviously a very overlooked day!
So just wanted to ask what all the childfree are up to today?
I had a day of childcare with my nephew and niece yesterday which was great and has made me appreciate my freedom today!

Edit* Don't know how I managed to mess up the title 🤣

Ooh, I didn't know we had a day.

Happy childfree day!

I've organised the shed and my craft box, and am now having a restorative piece of cake before going for a swim.

Oh well done, that sounds very productive!
I did go swimming yesterday but today I've mostly been on the sofa eating spaghetti and wondering if it's too early for wine

Didn't know there was a Day! Fed neighbours cats with DH, watched the Commonwealth Games and will be ready for a long stint in the garden when the heat subsides.

Happy childfree day! I've spent my day studying but I am going out soon with my husband to do some shopping, go to the cinema and have dinner, so we have accidentally planned quite a nice childfree day celebration without knowing we had a day to celebrate 😂

Have a great evening!
My partner is away today so trying to decide if I want to stay home or go to the pub.
It made me smile that you wrote 'my husband' rather than DH. I'm getting married next year and looking forward to saying husband ❤️

Royal Mail came to collect all the packages from my business after which Tesco delivered my shopping. Ive just had a late lunch. Sorted out some new stock for a photo shoot tomorrow and I also do online tutoring so one of my students is calling in from Singapore later. Saturday is probably the most hectic day of my week for a mixture of domestic stuff, business and alife dmin. In old (81) and dont have (or need) a partner so I organize my own time. Tomorrow I will do nothing after the photo shoot except upload it and begin the edits. PM will be a bit of ME time.

I slept for 9 hours, went to the shops, made a nice lunch, did yoga, read for a while, had a nap, now just about to start dinner and make a cocktail. Definitely the sort of day that would be impossible with young kids around 😊

Love this
Yesterday with my nephew and niece was nice and didn't do anything extravagant but ended up spending a fortune(swimming, ice creams, drinks etc) and it was knackering!

I feel the same when I spend time with my niece and nephew. They're just delightful and I have a lovely time, but I'm always shattered! So grateful for my quiet clean house 😊

Happy Childfree Day.

I went with the husband to a nearby antique and vintage fair - got two vintage dresses and some costume jewellery. Planning a relaxing evening with a DVD.

I'm enjoying two 'days' today as I'm in Yorkshire and it's Yorkshire Day too! Happy Yorkshire Day to any fellow Yorkshire folk!

Alphabet1spaghetti2 · 01/08/2026 18:12

Went to a felting workshop. Didn’t know today was Today thing!

aliasfrog · 01/08/2026 19:13

I went to the garden centre for more bird food, had a leisurely nap, dh was out coaching sport this morning so I mainly sat in bed watching youtube videos!
This evening will be catching up on gardeners world, eating a galaxy, knitting, and cuddle my husband!!!
I wanted kids but couldn't have them so I try and make the most of being able to be really selfish with my time and treat myself.

Met with friends, waxing then food shop. Got home at 5 and lazing, really need to decide on food for tonight

NoKidding · 02/08/2026 18:18

Belated Happy International Childfree Day to you all! I spent it reading, exercising, drinking tea, and doing some much-needed house sorting 😁

Is it terrible that I can't wait for the school holidays to be over? I'm sick of kids everywhere!

Definitely not terrible! Supermarket shops take twice as long and motorway services are soooo busy... not to mention the roadworks everywhere!

JoleneJoleneJoleneJoleneJolene · Today 11:58

It's only 20 degrees here today after weeks of heat. It actually feels cold!

Does anyone have any nice weekend plans?
I don't work fridays so my weekend starts tonight
