NB This is mn without kids board

What are your plans? And does anyone have any fab film recommendations please, that don’t centre families with kids? 🙂

Going to a friend's house. There will be a mish mash of us. I have been invited on many occasions, but have always declined. Had many Christmas days alone through choice. I would binge on something I like, whether it ge podcasts, a book or a programme. This would be accompanied by chocolate and hot tea🤣

Not much - just enjoying the break from work. Might brave the sales between Christmas and New Year!

Nothing! Can't wait 😄

Just been to visit family and friends in a different part of the country for a long weekend. Was great. Now home, back to work for a couple of days. Food shop booked for Christmas Eve. Looking forward to a peaceful lazy Christmas.

My only gripe is my own failure to get a Christmas tree. My needs are quite specific, the one I ordered was too big so I gave it away (made someone else happy which was nice). Tried three garden centres over the weekend, no joy.

Just me, the husband and the dog for Christmas Day. Dog walk in the morning, pub whilst dinner cooks. We’ve got rib of beef which wouldn’t have been allowed if our families were with us. Looking forward to a fairly lazy few days!

I’ll be working until 2pm Christmas Eve, then my partner and I are going to a hotel twenty miles away and staying there until the 27th. I live in the west of Ireland and the hotel’s location is beautiful. Last Thursday my consultant told me my cancer has returned to both lungs and my abdomen so I’m determined to enjoy this Christmas.

Hosting DB, SIL and DN for Christmas Day. Then going away to a cottage by the sea for New Year.

Sorry about your medical news. I hope the hotel gives you a wonderful xmas.

If you're happy to share the name, I'm always on the lookout for nice hotels that don't require crossing the sea. We had a lovely Christmas break in one in Enniskillen a few years ago.

I did the visit to family last month, so we're having a two of us at home celebration this year. Food provided by a local caterer who delivers everything on xmas eve prepped and ready to just pop in the oven.

Films: we'll be watching The Great Escaper, and Mrs Caldicot's Cabbage War looks promising. On a similar note the the latter, I believe there's a new season of Man on the Inside, which should be fun.

Playing Golf. Always a great day to play as the courses are very quiet.

There are loads. Kelsey Grammer film tonight. Can’t remember the name. But there are so many after a quick search!

I've been with my parents and DB on the West coast of Scotland. Lots of food, too much wine and some great unexpected naps!

It's hard to find (i have it on Dvd) but if you can find it there is a great Christmas film called Bernard and the Genie. It's a bit dated now but it's an early 90's, made -for - TV movie starring Alan Cumming and Lenny Henry. My parents never put a lot of store in certificates so they would often record stuff on after the watershed that they thought we'd like and back then some of the more adult jokes just went over my head but I can enjoy them now.
