MNetters without Children - NYE plans?

I'm getting a Thai takeaway and a bottle of chicken wine and plan to be in bed by 10. Humbug! 😅

Loads of nibbles, a glass of my chocolate baileys over ice, snuggles with DH on the sofa and bed about 3 minutes after the bells... rock n roll lifestyle here...🤣🤣

DH is working. I’ve saved The Split: Barcelona to watch and can’t wait.

Friend staying and I will go to town with delicious canapés and simple dinner for later. Fork on on some good wine

We’re heading to one of our favourite restaurants with some fellow child free friends

Going to a friend’s house to play games and a general catch up/natter. If previous years are any indication we’ll just about make it to midnight before retiring to bed!

A dinner party and then a party. I'm looking forward to 2025 so much so I'm excited to welcome it.

I'm going out for a meal with 5 friends . None of us like evening party party so have a lovely meal at lunchtime , something lovely to eat cheers in the new year . See you on the other side , close door curtains drawn candles lit and a good movie .

Where did you get the chocolate Baileys? I can't find it anywhere!

I'm having normal Baileys with cheese and biscuits on my sofa and going to bed early!

DH got it in Tesco. It's in clubcard price atm. ...I know this because DH moaned when we went shopping that he had paid full price 🤣 I'm not going to tell him its also a tenner in sainsburys. It's in a blue bottle btw.

Party food, board games, and then loud music to drown out the fireworks for the dog who’s terrified.

Depending where you are there may not be any/many fireworks. Lots are being cancelled, lots of warnings not to set them off as well and my local Facebook group is full of people saying they're not setting them off because of the weather/wind.

I hope your dog is ok if your area still has some ❤️

I am working nye and nyd so I will be in bed by 10 pm .

Been out for a slap up meal tonight with DH. Tomorrow will probably be beef stew, glass or two of fizz and sleep by 11. Probably woken by damn fireworks at 12!

A 'casino royale' theme party. Bought my outfit today - sequin mini dress and patterned tights (it's freezing here).

NYD will consist of sleep and getting ready to go back to work on the 2nd.

Going to a matinee theatre show tomorrow in London and plan to head straight back after to hopefully miss the madness!

Once we're back we'll have a nice dinner and maybe play some games.

We usually go over to friends but the host has messaged to say he has flu and to cancel. I suggested to DH that we host instead but he didn’t fancy it. Neither of us were feeling it either way. My poor cat is terrified of fireworks so a lot of time looking after her I suspect.

Into London for a wander, see the lights and a late lunch. We'll meander back home for about 9 or 10 pm and try to stay awake til midnight. Happy New Year everyone 🎉

DH and I are both working tomorrow, then he's working early again NYD. So it'll be home, dinner, TV and bed. We'll probably watch Squid Game. I don't even know that we'll bother staying up for the bells or having a dram. The exciting life of the childfree, eh..?

I will stay at home with Catofhate. I have no intention of socialising.
