But she has just plummeted in my estimation. She thinks female comedians get funnier when they become mums.

All the male comedians do it too, the wife and kids stuff. Their set naturally changes as their life does, be a bit weird if it didn't. Especially those with long careers.

I’ve never heard a male comedian say that being a dad made them funnier though.

@Goldiefinch Sarah Millican is childfree by choice.

No, she’s awful. Self-righteous, needy and lacking in any real humour- peak Millennial. Sorry, Millennials. Obviously you aren’t all like that but she embodies all the worst stereotypes.

She's barely a millennial she is 81 and genx finishes at 80 so dunno if she is 'typical'

She has never been funny so I suppose she couldnt get any worse.

Can't stand the woman, she's as funny as an abscess.

My fav female comedian is Diane Morgan, I don't imagine she'd be sad enough to do something like that.?

Moonshine5 · 11/01/2025 00:07

My sister and I were having this conversation She's done a complete 180 since she got married and had kids.
I didn't find her funny on Saturday kitchen

I don't have or want children, but lets face it, they can be VERY funny.
I remember Dylan Moran doing a bit about his toddler that had me in stitches, and one whose name I can't remember right now, but his thing about his child being weird, and referring to himself in third person, and that was very very funny.
it's good to hear about their funny moments without having to deal with all the rest of it.

also, I loved Sarah Millicans "we can't have children.....because I hate them"

KimberleyClark · 25/01/2025 10:04

Miles Jupp and John Bishop can also be very funny about their kids. I think Miles Jupp had four under 5 at one point.
