What do you do at the weekend?

I only work 4 days (36hrs)
On Fridays I clean my (disabled) mom's house, blowdry her hair, do her shopping etc.
Then and I love pottering around, bit of housework, prepping food, reading.

Saturdays are visiting family, pub, meals out, walks, meeting friends.

Sunday is very lazy.. often hungover.
Usually boxsets, reading, pottering and an early night.

How about you?

Saturday - clean, shop, read, watch the racing, loaf around. Now the weather's better (she said, looking at the rainclouds) I'm going to make myself get out more on a Saturday.

Sunday is a no-shop day of utter laziness spending too much time on MN.

Thanks for responding, you sound similar to me.
Is it horse or car or something else racing you watch? I'm clueless with sport

I try my best to get out somewhere one day of the weekend, even if it's only half an hour away - I need the change of scene. Sometimes we do more ambitious train or coach trips. Friday/Saturday evenings I tend to stay up late watching a film, secure in the knowledge I don't have to get up early the following morning. Also a chance to catch up on stuff around the house. Generally get a supermarket shop in, usually on Sunday.

Nothing thrilling but then I'm not a very exciting person, I'm quite happy pottering about enjoying not being at work.

Horse racing. Know zero about it but enjoy watching it - ITV or ITV4

Probably spending time gaming or watching twitch, if i can motivate myself then i'll paint some models for playing tabletop games with friends but at the moment we are playing Dungeons and Dragons fairly regularly and inbetween those sessions i'm trying to see my partner, where we'll hang out together.

The below is typical for me. Most don’t apply to this weekend because I am on meds ahead of a medical procedure next week and I am not allowed to exercise or drink. 😭

Saturday:
Barre class
Long walk + podcast/audiobook
Meet a friend for lunch or dinner
Go to the theatre or cinema or to an exhibition (cinema today!)
Occasionally go on a date (lol)
Cook dinner from scratch if not eating out

Sunday:
Morning coffee at my favourite coffee shop
Yoga class, walking to & from yoga studio (~1 hour)
Make brunch at home
HIIT class
Various beauty appointments as and when needed - eyebrow threading, manicure, haircut, laser hair removal, etc.
Sometimes squeeze in seeing another friend for dinner or a late lunch
Cook dinner from scratch if not eating out

I'm still finding weekends difficult since stbxh left, but they're getting easier.

I always try to see friends on a Saturday and Sundays have been quite lazy so far! I try to go for a swim most weekends but just had a tattoo so can't for a couple more weeks.

Always looking for ideas for solo entertainment!

pinkwaterbottle9 · 07/04/2024 20:02

I work every weekend as I hate them Smile

ilovesooty · 07/04/2024 20:04

Depends on the football fixtures.

Depends on the week. Sometimes we have drinks on Friday so lazy Saturday and Sunday is for weelly shop and day out. Sometime the other way around.
Sunday is sea swim eve then everything shower. My skin and hair are loving it.

KStockHERO · 08/04/2024 15:32

Saturday Morning:
Cleaning
Get the online shopping delivery in
Boxing coaching session
Luxurious shower with my posh products
Pizza and salad for lunch

Saturday Afternoon [Not all on one day!]:
Pottering
Reading
Batch cooking
Crafting
Playing board games
Gardening

Saturday Night:
Something lovely and special for tea (home made or take away)
A couple of wines
A couple of spirits
Gladiators

Sunday all day is much the same as Saturday afternoon - just bimbling and pottering and pleasing ourselves. If DP has lots of work to do, we'll both work in the home office on Sundays which I really enjoy. No drinking on Sunday night though.

A tarot card of Stevie Nicks... she's beautiful but just getting through the scabby stage!

StressyMessyJess · 03/05/2024 19:32

What are all the childfree up to this weekend?

Tomorrow I'm going to a antique market with my sister and SIL to hopefully find a few treasures.
Cooking something nice in the evening and probably watch a horror film, drink wine with my partner.
Working BH Mon so cant let loose Sunday unfortunately.

Yesterday I had a PT session in the morning, then we spent the afternoon reading, playing board games, pottering around the garden. Takeaway and wine for tea.

Today is much of the same with some batch cooking thrown in this afternoon. No takeaway and wine tonight though!

Working BH Monday but that's okay, I'm quietly taking Thursday off next week 😀

Lovely, quiet, adult weekend

oh MY goodness @CleanShirt can we please see it? I have been wanting this exact tattoo (well, a Stevie/tarot card inspired tattoo) for months and months now, keep trying to save up for it and not managing.

Saturday go yo slimming class then home to prep.lessons. usually walk tound block later. Sometimes I'll batch cook. Sunday I will meet cousin for a walk. Have to force myself to do stuff no get up and go. In holidays I.am busier

Catsmere · 11/09/2024 01:36

My weekends are usually spent at home. Since Mum moved into care in January I don't have anyone else to look after except my cats, and once they've been pilled and fed all they want to do is go back to sleep (preferably with me on the bed). I'm out of work and likely to remain so (over 60 and been Mum's carer for seven years, so not exactly the sort employers are looking for - and I haven't seen a single job advertised that I could do or would want to). Weekend chores are dependent on whether I've already got them out of the way during the week, which generally I have. At most I'll have a load or two of washing to do and some grocery shopping. Otherwise it's knitting, reading MN and other sites, maybe watching something online. I socialise several times a week, so don't need to at the weekend, though I may go and visit Mum.

Karaxis · 24/10/2024 18:37

On Saturdays, I generally work a shortish shift (I'm a parcel courier). My wife works every second Saturday so if she's off, I'll go home after my shift and make lunch, and then generally we just relax with our two cats and maybe play some PlayStation together before watching whatever tv show we are currently on in the evening.
Sundays we usually go for a day trip or a walk somewhere pretty- a local lake, the beach etc. We like to get out of the house together at least once a week even in the colder months.
