I am due my first Ofsted Inspection and an inspector has rang me to arrange this. Now I know the name of my inspector how can I find reports she has written to help me find out what sort of thing she is hot on. Thank you

Very hard to do, as their name may appear on inspection reports differently to that they have told you (as reports will use their full name) plus Ofsted have changed their website fairly recently, so Google does not know about all the pages yet.

You can try a google search like this

inspector +Molloy site:www.ofsted.gov.uk/ inurlxcare_reports

example

Molloy would be the inspectors surname. May pick up some results if you are lucky.

They tend to stay within an area so you could try postcode searches near to you, or use the directgov website to search for local childminders and cross reference the postcodes.I did it up to 50 miles away. I managed to find quite a few this way and found it really helpful to see what was picked up.

nannynick the name you chose is my old under eight's officer!

8Danthe4th* we have had Gloucs inspectors doing Herts inspections recently as all the Herts ones are in London catching up!

When I had my inspection she has never done a childminder and traveled about 2 hours!

Ofsted have changed their site and you can't look for reports published in the last week anymore. It used to to be easy to go to your area - say East, then county and look at the dates when inspected, and find colleagues reports. If you don't know their postcode nearly impossible as you have yo look through loads!

I emailed Ofsted and they are looking at reinstating it, CDO's used it to look at reports to uncover the latest 'whim' in inspections.

yy ali, I have been in email correspondence with Ofsted too, asking for search by inspection date to be reinstated

I said the data they allow access to now is of course very useful but that the ability to drill down through the data was a valuable resource that has been taken away

They are thinking about it, so any feedback that other CMs can email in would help

I looked at all the reports for CM's in my postcode until I found a couple done by the inspector I was having.

It is not a quick process but I felt it was an hour or so very well spent. As everyone else has said the only way to do it is to trawl through all the local reports. This turned up 8 by the inspector as she was just working this area, and I was able to get an idea of the way she works and what she tends to concentrate on. It was extremely useful and a worthwhile investment since it resulted in an 'outstanding' grade.

As nannynick mentioned, they have to issue the report in their full name including middle name so if you get a call from for example Cathy, the report will probably be issued with Catherine as the first name. I googled my inspector as I had luckily been able to find out her middle name and I instantly got 4 responses.
