DD1 is due to finish with her cm in August after just over a year of being with her. I really want to get her something that shows I've put some effort in (rather than just picking up the first gift set i come accross in Boots!). Can't really spend more than £30. Any ideas? I'm stumped!

Ask her casually if she has a "wish list" on Amazon. Or just have a look yourself. Usually just type in someones name or email address and you can see what they "want".

I do this with my dh, he thinks I am amazing that I always get him what he wants.

If she doesnt have a wish list, maybe she will start one up after your converstation, and you can get her something that is on it, if its in your price range of course.

I wish people would look on my wish list, and they would see that what I really want is something small and useful, not loads of horrible candles and soaps!

excellent tip about the wish list......didn't know amazon did that. Only problem is there are 7 people with my CM's name and I don't know if any of them is her! I may just have to bite the bullet and ask her.

I am a cm and I have received lovely written references, hand made cards/pictures from the children, home made biscuits/cakes/chocolates etc as well as chocolates, flowers and perfume when children have left my care.

theatre/cinema ticket

don't forget the handmade card

thanks for the ideas......I'll definitely be getting the paints out for a handmade card. Like the reference idea too.
