CM Club - Term Time Only

Never done one of these, and have a teacher coming to see me for some early morning and late afternoon care.

Do you charge anything for school holidays? Or do you charge extra over term time to cover? Or do you just charge for the time you have them during term time?

Many thanks

Think about September '11 - you save the space for the start of the new term (so 6 weeks of school holiday) & then they cancel week/day before term starts

How do you ensure you don't lose money?

I would normally charge a 50% retainer for the holidays, but I have 2 children who look like they're going to slot into each other (one wants 3 days term time and the other wants 3 days school holidays). I will make it clear to their parents that if the other person leaves, they may have to pay to retain the place. (Having said that I am a real pushover and this is just what I am hoping I will do)

I charge extra over the term time, I only do term time contracts so am the most expensive around me but it suits teachers.
I also only offer full days to teachers, not before and after school care as it doesn't pay and I can't fill the inbetween time, but thats just me.
When the contract is signed it specifies a start date and the first payment date so they can start saving childcare vouchers.
If I thought they may not take the place I would ask for a deposit.
I make sure that they realise that if they give notice the 4 weeks notice starts in the term time, holiday time is not counted, this ensures they don't cancel in the holidays, I always get payment in advance as well, i've never had any problems.
Teachers suit me as I have 4 of my own children at school so need the space in the holidays.
