Well i've been registered since march 2010, got no mindees yet, i told ofsted but the lady said she will call next week to see if anything changed because i need my inspection. What will they do if i havent got any mindees?

You have to be inspected within 6mths of registration so imo you have until September 2010. If they inspect you with no children there, I'm sure the most you can be graded is satisfactory'. I would ring tomorrow and ask to speak to a supervisor, just to clarify.

I have a friend who has come off maternity leave, has no mindees yet, inspection overdue and Ofsted said they would ring her in a couple of months to see if she had any children.

In time, you will realise that 'they' are a law unto themselves and they dont always get it right!!

I think it will be quite difficult to be inspected without children present. The inspector will need to see how you care for them, interaction partnerships with parents, obs planning... the list goes on.

Its a bit pointless really, I would second Underpaid and phone them. You don't want a satisfactory grade because you have no mindees it would be very unfair.

don't worry i have been registered since nov 2009 and still have no mindees ofsted phones a few months ago and said they would put me down with no children on role and as soon as i have my first to call them and then i will get my inspection have phoned them since that and we can be like this for 3 years hth
