Hi I am a newly registered childminder and am after some advice I was thinking of giving parents who visit me on the first occasion a prospectus with pics of what i have to offer a sample contract, fees, hours, main policies that i think they would want to know activites places i visit what do you think? any advice greatly appreciated as i have had a few visits n nothing ever comes from them wonder if it would make me stick out more?

I have a leaflet rather than a prospectus, It is 2 sides of A4 folded in 3. Includes section about me, times, fees, qualifictions, foods and what i plan to provide for the children. Think it makes it look more professional and they definately remember me for it.

Yeah I do something simular too.

I include details about my setting and myself & family
Fees and hoildays
Copy of my certificate and Ofsted report
Sample of prodecdures & Policies

It's great for parents because they can read it in there own time.

I have a flyer printed that I can give out. Also a file in the playroom with all relevant certificates and qualifications and one for policies and proceedures. I give a welcome pack out when the contract is signed with the necessary stuff in.

Just thought I'd mention though if you give out copies of your Ofsted report, blank your URN out so people don't use to claim CC costs on it.

I have business cards and direct people to my website. I have a huge policy document for people who are serious about signing contracts. I thought about making some kind of leaflet, but couldn't work out what to put in/leave out.

I have:

Business Cards
Tri-fold
4 Page brochure
Welcome pack (after contracts)
