Hi Mums-

We are hiring our first "real" babysitter this week for 6 month DS while DH and I celebrate 10 flipping years out at a fancy pants hotel restaurant.

Our babysitter is coming at 6... what's the deal with feeding her? Do I leave money for pizza? Make something for her and leave it? Or are we not responsible for the feeding of her? Is this a dumb question?

I only remember my own baby sitting experiences when I was an irresponsible teen, eating all the Doritos at the people's houses I sat for.

Anyone have a best practice on the done thing these days??

Many thanks - I don't want to embarrass myself!

I usually leave the babysitter with some snacks - crisps, choc bar, tin of diet coke - but she is a teen and would eat all the doritos I could throw at her

I don't think you will be expected to feed her a meal - she should expect to eat early if she is working. But I would leave tea, coffee, juice and some nibbles such as crisps and choccie biscuits in case she gets peckish later.

You could leave so pasta and sauce for her - money for a pizza is maybe overly generous.

Agree don't leave money for pizza but as starting early I would show her where the fridge is and say help Yourself to pasta/jacket pot/sandwich/biscuits if Hungary

if I ate at 5.30 before going to bs, then I would be Hungary later on as too early to eat. But I normally eat 8 ish

have fun. Make sure they have the resturants name/ no incase mobiles have no reception

Make sure you leave restaurant number cos it's bloody rude to have your mobile on in a restaurant
have fun!

Thanks all. I am off the hook for making a real meal but will get the house snacked up. Perfect. This I can do!
