I beleive that in a few years time all childminders will need to be educated to NVQ level 3 but will it be a specific nvq? i.e if i do a level 3 in health and social care will that suffice?

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Not much information alas.
Conservatives if they get in say that they will want to keep the nvq3 being something childcarers should have by 2015.
To be safe, do a childcare specific course. Though come 2015 who knows what will be acceptable, Health and Social care may well be sufficient.

If you want to read what the Shadow Minister for the Family (Conservative) said in a recent interview... Morton Michel: Election - Conservative Interview
"The next stage for early years education is boosting quality. We know high-quality childcare can really make a difference to children?s life chances. We support the aspiration to raise the number of level 3 qualified and degree-level qualified staff by 2015. But there needs to be an action plan for this."

Try to finish the ccld as that will be accepted even when the new level 3 comes in in september, I had problems with my provider and put in an official complaint to train to gain who deal with the funding. In the meantime I complained to the company directly and the matter was sorted out asap. Do not give up make a complaint and try to finish it as it has opened so many doors for me.

I have already complained on several occasions tbh, and i just cant be bothered with the hassle anymore, it would affect my ability to do my job properly let alone my family life, thats not what i came into childminding for I am letting this one finish and i will restart one in a year or two me thinks

The nvq is being phased out in September. If you're part way through then I would keep going, otherwise you'll have to start from scratch.
