CMs - how is your day going?!

For the first time in a couple of weeks now I am having a truely glorious day! I've been feeling a little bit stuck in a rut recently but today has been amazingly fun and I've got my mojo back! Freaky really as I've had a houseful of kids all day two of which are one-offs and are speaking in a mixture of French, German and English!

So far today we've done smelly playdough, drawings, threading and loads of playing with cars and kitchens!

What has your day been like and what have you done?

I had a good day too. Wednesdays are my busiest day - 3 under 3 in the morning, 4 under 5 in the afternoon and 4 after school. My feet have barely touched the ground but the time just flies. We have been to playgroup, done some cutting and sticking and been to the park. The spring-like weather makes such a difference. I also think once Wednesday is done it's downhill all the way to the weekend!

Lovely day. Playing with water in the garden most of the time.

Lovely day here too, soft play in the morning with some singing and dancing at home then a nice long 2 hour nap that I had to wake them up from!

We are watching my gardener dig a hole for a tadpole pond, we have spades too, and are helping pat down the earth!

Big delivery this morning of life cycle things such as jigsaw puzzles, tadpole to frog figures etc

Now to find some frog spawn.

Hello mums
I am also trying to become a CM as I love to look after my son who is 7 months is few days.
I would like to know from any of you how many children did you start looking after ? and how did you advertise your CM? Any help will do ! I am not to sure if I would find it too hard ! Nat

Hayleycm · 26/03/2010 14:15

hello naty, to be a childminder you have to become registered with ofsted if caring for younger children, you a lso need a first aid certificate and insurance, you will be told how many children you can have by ofsted when they come to assess your house :D

Naty75 · 01/04/2010 14:18

Thanks Hayleycm, Are you a childminder?

Do you by any chance know if you can do the First aid course before attending the Pre registration and the 3 sessions? : )

atworknotworking · 01/04/2010 14:50

Yes you can, you will need to do 12hr paediatric cert, St Johns Ambulance run them, as do other providers, if you google a list will come up. Although some LA's cover the cost of training in with your pre-reg stuff so will probably be worth waiting, you can't start anyway withour reg and that can take a good few months.

whats the three sessions?
