nannyshare costs - help please!

hoping someone could help with what the going rate is for a nanny looking after two children (one year olds) in central London? Thinking around £12 per hour net? Is this way off? It's a nanny share by the way.

Sounds about right to me

I do a nannyshare for 2x 1-year-olds and I get 450 net a week for 4 days of 10 hrs. Hope to help.

I run www.simplychildcare.com and we find that the average rate for a nanny share (where two families are sharing a nanny together on the same days) is £11 net per hour in London with £12 being at the higher end. If you live in a popular area somewhere like Hampstead or Chelsea then you would expect to pay at the higher end than if you were living in somewhere like Hendon or Catford. Often, a nanny share is about £2 per hour more than the nanny would get just working for one family.
And remember that how the £11 or £12 per hour is split between the two families, is up to the families, not up to the nanny. If one family regularly needs more hours or has two children, not one, then the usual 50/50 split would not be fair and often a 60/40 split is agreed. And don't forget that as well as having a contract with the nanny, the parents should have a contract or agreement between themselves covering things like how much notice they need to give each other, holiday arrangements, payment of salary etc. Good luck - when nanny shares are organised well, they can be great for everyone involved: the parents, the nanny and the children!
