I have prospective parents arriving in half an hour (hopefully they'll turn up). I rally need some good luck vibes to get this job as after easter I will be down to one very part-timer. Thanks

Hope its going well, I'm also going to be down to 1 child after easter, it just doesn't pay so am looking for other types of childcare and am in touch with the council for a new scheme they are piloting in the area, a type of respite care.I'm also doing nannying as you can do the 2 together and still stay self employed.

Well, another who couldn't be bothered to cancell. Dan, our council are piloting a similar scheme through sure start, however they stipulate that you have to have a car available which I don't always have.

strictly speaking that isn't true. If you work fixed hours as a nanny (ie every monday) then your an employee.

Hennipenni sorry to hear about the parent; have you tried childcare.co.uk I get 2/3 enquiries every day from there!

Hi Navy, yes I have, I have exhauted every avenue that I can think of. i have just applied for a job that I don't want

hmm what about laminated posters in the park? Have you checked with FIS that they have you down as having vacancies? Are you on the direct.gov site?

So sorry to hear that things are looking grim

LoveMyGirls · 03/03/2010 08:27

Sorry to hear that henni, I hate it when they just don't turn up!

I've got a mindee leaving and it's a financial mess on top of the fact it's very awkward, I'm trying to make it as easy as possible but you know how difficult it can be .

I'm hoping and praying someone else comes along asap! I will pray for you too x

hennipenni · 03/03/2010 14:31

Thanks for the wishes, it turns out that the lady in question was seeing another minder at the same time as she should have seen me. I was totally messed about yesterday as I'd cancelled plans to see a friend whom I haven't seen for a long long time.

I really don't want to finish minding as I adore my one remaining mindee, and we've had a fab time today finger painting and going to toddlers. I have been short of work since July last year and bank balance can't take much more of it
