What are we all up to today?

It's cooking here, as we are making heart shaped peppermint creams for Valantines Day, and pretty heart cards.

Still continuing our Chinese New Year theme in the background as well, with some CNY songs and the story 'Dancing Tiger' It's a lovely story.

morning

i am going to drag myself through the day with bed time in mind. i have a horrible head cold and am feeling very sorry for myself.

my house resembles Grand Central Station today: J in then out, E in then out, A in then out, Collect Jk, collect Ae and Aee and L and D, drop off L, say good bye to the remaining lot one at a time..

Shoshe, quick recipe for the peppermint creams please? x

DH out on school run. Had planned some valentines cards yesterday, but we just ended up with painting and glittering. That's what the children wanted to do, so that's what we did. Could have made them into cards, but that would have been for me and the parents (and perhaps Ofsted), not the children. Also planted some cress in glittered pots.

Dyed my jeans black last night, so I can wear them back stage at DD's dance festivals (just keeping an eye on the next wash in the machine ).

Looks sunny today, I can feel some outdoor activities (and mud) coming on. Oh how I wish all the children had brought their wellies as requested.

1000 thanks, Shoshe! i could have googled, i suppose. really appreciate it.

HSMM, you are very brave heading outdoors. I am not a great outdoor-in-the-mud goer, mainly cos the mess coming back in doors [lazy twit emoticon]

Just been given notice by a lovely family, that are moving out your way No4. Feeling quite low about it but these things happen I suppose, now need to fill their space.......

We did peppermint creams at christmas, oh what a mess and the children loved making them but none of them enjoyed eating them - can you get different flavourings??

Hope everyone has a great wednesday

I just got caught in the worse blizzard, totally frozen, totally soaked, DD screaming her head off in the front of the pram because I hadn't taken a rain cover . I've had a good day though, went to the Children's Centre, DD loved it and the little boy I'm looking after slept through the whole thing. His mum said he is up all night and sleeps all day, she isn't wrong!

Shoshe · 10/02/2010 14:17

Peppermint creams made, (and I even made some little boxes for them to go into, which the children decorated)

But now have two little girls with snotty noses and runny eyes, but as they are sisters, and other little girl is away on holiday, so have said I will keep them in, they just want a curl up on the sofa now., and I have no school run to do, so we are.

We've been busy busy here. Painted some tiger masks this AM for Chinese NY, then off to the farm as it's nice and dry (but really cold!). Quick stop off at the cafe for some cake and something warm to drink.

Back home had chilli for lunch with tortilla crisps, children thought it was hilarious they were having "crisps" with their lunch!

All 6 now fast asleep!

Shoshe · 10/02/2010 14:25

Mums I have replaced the peppermint essence with Strawberry flavouring.
