We are moving to the Lloyd Park area of Walthamstow in a couple of weeks, and I return to work early March so we are about to embark on a frantic search for childcare for our now-5-month-year-old extremely chilled and cheery baby.

I have the list of childminder vacancies from the council but I don't have a clue where to begin and would absolutely love any advice or word-of-mouth childminder recommendations.

Please help! Many thanks x

Ooh I'm sorry I can't help as am only 11 weeks pg but I live in the Lloyd Park area so just wanted to say welcome to the area! It is a really nice place to live and there are tons of families with small children.

Hi have you tried the local children's center I think there is one in Lloyds Park. They probably have a childminder drop-in so you could meet some childminders. I haven't been there as I use the CC next to Ridgeway Park

There is a children's centre in Lloyd Park but it has a horrendous waiting list. In fact I have been advised to get on the waiting list now and I am only 12 weeks pg... But as the provious poster suggests they might know about childminders.
