How do you write your own childminders contract?

Has anyone drawn up their own childminders contract for parents using their services.

I would like to write my own. Any ideas? It cost so much to buy them.

I heard that if you don't use the NCMA contracts then their insurance is invalid, is that right?

I have tried using the NCMA ones but to my mind there seems to be so much they miss out or they cannot be sufficiently tailored to your own setting. They should have more options/choices. I have used my own for the last seven years and every year I refine them at the beginning of the calendar year when I review my rates etc. Each year of experience tends to bring up something that I think should be in my contracts so unless it is something really major that I need to discuss with a parent straight away, I will include the changes in my annual review. I don't resent paying for NCMA contracts if only they did the job they were intended to do, and they don't in my opinion.

Yes NCMA will only cover you if you use their contract.

I am with Morton Michel. They will still cover you if you dont use their contract.

When I started childminding I found that the NCMA contract was very long. Lots to read.

TIGERSMUM thanks for you assistant, I will email you today.

Regards and Happy New Year!!!

NCMA Insurance is still valid if you don't use their contracts. It is the Legal Representation on contract issues which is not covered if you use your own contracts. I have been using my own contracts for 15 years, for the same reasons as Millenium.

I use the NCMA contract & then have a contract addendum which has all the nitty gritty stuff in it

Great idea thanks
