Thinking to start babysitting... will it work?

I spent a while trying to work out how I could earn some extra cash and realised that babysitting would be what I would love doing. I am mother myself (in my 30ties) and actually have a full-time job, so was thinking to make and drop leaflets to houses in neighbouring streets and offer babysitting from around 8pm to 2am. I would expect that people would need me mostly on weekends when I usually stay at home watching TV anyway. I understand from other posts that I do not need to register anywhere and I don?t need to pay tax, I hope I am thinking right here. By the way, I am not CRB checked nor qualified but I am thinking that my local location would help the parents to have peace of mind.. Is there anything else I need to know/worry before I start?

you may get neighbours who want you as they know you but anyone who doesnt know you, would want you probably to be crbed and ideally first aid and want referneces

if you earn less than the tax limit (around £6k) then no you wont need to pay tax

place some ads/pop in leaflets and see what happens

I think unless its people you know like neighbours people wouldnt want someone unqualified and not crb checked caring for their children.

It would be worth joining an agency maybe that could then do a crb check and doing some weekend mothers help work to get some experience.

I guess trying it is the only way make up some leaflets and pop them in doors and see what happens if nothing then maybe need to think about the above.

good luck.
