Our CM cannot look after children this week as their own child is home from school (10 yrs old) with swine flu. Should we pay them for the hours/days that they cannot have our children?

Depends what's in your contract. Normally if a cm can't work then she doesn't charge... but it really depends on the cm and what you have agreed to.

all in the contract that you must have signed at the beginning. Most cms dont charge if their place is effectivly shut as yours is.

poor her though, her child is ill and she will probably get it as well and then thats another week or so unpaid, and her bills still have to be paid..

I expect most parents get sick pay so dont need to worry about this side of things so count your blessings.. its not easy being self employed sometimes..
