Hi i have just been offered a job in a nursery.I understand crb checks can take a few weeks to process but they have said i can start supervised once i am list 99 cleared.Does anyone know how long this is likely to take.

Mine took 5months..and i hadnt been out the country or no name change. it was simply due to the fact OFSTED are shit!

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/05/2009 12:01

5mths

dont say that

Supernanny19 · 07/05/2009 12:45

Yeah i know a long time lucky i had me CM1 form or something like that - so u can only work supervised..all the ladies i worked with thought i was a criminal as it was taking so bloody long! quite embarassing really to have mine take the longest in the 10 years the nursery had been open lol.

financiallyscrewed · 07/05/2009 12:47

If you're talking about CRB's, I'm usually told 6 weeks but I've had one back in 2 weeks. Not sure why I was lucky though!!

RedEmma · 07/05/2009 13:55

I don't know what list 99 is, but my last one took almost 2 months (just got it back) and the one before that (last year) took two weeks.

BeauticianNotMagician · 08/05/2009 09:46

Thank you for all your replies i just hope it doesnt take too long.I dont have to wait for my crb to start i will just be supervised until it does but the manager at the nursery said i do have to be list 99 cleared.I have never heard of it either.

List99 is done as part of the CRB check. Though perhaps schools can do it separately, not sure. A standalone nursery couldn't though to my knowledge.

List99 check is now done via the ISA

Parenta offers List99 clearing for nurseries for free - Parenta: List99 Check Form - though can't find details on how long it takes to come through.

nannynick · 08/05/2009 10:43

Sorry, was writing that as I found info... so it looks like a nursery can get List99 check done via Parenta.
