OK I now have 2 outstandings 05/06 & now 08/09

If I put them both on my letterhead/advertising it looks like I failed to get 06/07 & 07/08 for people who don't know that OFSTED only inspect every 3 yrs - is that relevant?

I also got a good in 03 which was as good as you could get in 03

SO I have been graded highly by OFSTED since 2003 - so can I write that some how?

Awarded the top grade in every inspection since 2003
or
Graded the best in every inspection since 2003
or
Something else?

Also I need to approach the local paper to mention it & get some advertising - any good suggestions how to do this?

Yes see if you can get the local paper to run a story on you.

I'd put.....Graded outstanding since 2003

Well done!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm due my inspection this year and I'm hoping to at least get good like last time, the goal posts have been altered but then I am more experienced now so maybe I'll get good again, Outstanding would make me very happy but I'd also be a bit because I'd never want to get anything less than OS ever again.

LoveMyGirls · 26/03/2009 13:26

Any hints or tips would be appreciated, maybe you could do a thread on how to get outstanding to give those of us who don't fully understand the official terminology a hope iyswim?

I think I'm good at what I do, parents think I'm outstanding but I always feel a bit like I'm not that good even though I try my very best. I had my dd1 at 17 and haven't done very much training, not what you would call an academic but I love what I do and make sure the children are happy and developing but I spend too much time worrying I'm not good enough. I'll stop waffling now. Sorry.

KatyMac · 26/03/2009 13:47

I'm not tho' I got Outstanding as soon as it was introduced but before that I was 'Good' it was the highest I could be at the time

Everyone has my SEF, my planning, my obs, my risk assessments - I'm not sure what else I could share

I haven't got those. Think what I need is it explained in very simple terms, I think I possibly think it's all a lot more complicated that it actually is and then I worry and then don't do things I should because I worry i'll do it wrong and it will be a waste of time, am I making any sense? Perhaps I'm worrying about nothign and I'll be fine when they come.

I'm glad you got OS though you really deserve to feel good about what you do I know it hasn't been easy for you lately.

Thank you so mcuh KM will do and will stop hi-jacking your thread, sorry

Advert looks fab to me

KatyMac · 26/03/2009 14:02

No problem

Should I put
"12.5 hours FREE* Nursery Education available @Walnut Corner have some new nursery places available from April 2009."
instead?

OP posts:
LoveMyGirls · 26/03/2009 14:39

I'd put...

12.5 hours FREE Nursery Education available
Walnut Corner has new nursery places available from April 2009

LoveMyGirls · 26/03/2009 14:40

or even

12.5 hours FREE Nursery Education available
Walnut Corner has nursery places available from April 2009

KatyMac · 26/03/2009 14:43

It looks cr*p tbh

I hate advertising

I never know whether to clarify stuff like this
"*Please ring to confirm eligibility ? Government regulations apply
#1 adult to 3 children (aged 3-5) "

or don't & leave your self open to misrepresentation iyswim

LoveMyGirls · 26/03/2009 19:57

I wouldn't bother with the extra bits, less is more imo. People need to see an advert a lot before they will ring even if they need the services you offer.

Have you got a logo (I'm assuming you do) get it plastered everywhere you can, shop windows, notice boards, cars, letter boxes, papers everywhere then the calls will come then you go through the finer details

Just having my dinner then i'll email you if that's ok x

KatyMac · 26/03/2009 20:15

How about this:

New To WC

Free Nursery Education

From the term after their 3rd birthday children are eligible for 12.5 hours FREE* Nursery Education.
*Please ring to confirm eligibility ? Government regulations apply

WC now has new nursery education
a few places are available from April 2009.

? OUTSTANDING ? OFSTED Inspection Mar 09
? Home Based setting
? 12 children Maximum
? High staff ratio (1 adult to 3 children)

Wrap around childcare also available
(priced separately)
