Is this even possible?

I need a childminder who can take my son or daughter at a days notice and only occasionally. Basically, if I get called for a job the day before I need to sort out care for them. This doesn't happen very often so they wouldn't be considered full or even part time.
Do child minders do this? Would they charge hourly and do school pick ups & drop offs?
Up until now I have been relying on friends and family, but that ship is sailing.

advice? thanks!

Some CMs do do it, however, they may or may not be able to take your child on that day due to their other mindees. Its probably a good idea to find several CMs who do adhoc care and have different days available so that you have some back up options.

I do this for one family and sometimes I can fit them in and sometimes I cant - so you need to have a Plan B or person B who might be able to.

It took my family a lot of work to find enough CMs to cover all the days with back ups but it is possible!
