Have you nannys ever posted in the wanted section and have replys where people act like they have children but then at the last hurdle fail to contact you or ask for personal details i.e bank etc

Yes - you can normally tell they're scams in their first email though. The deal they offer is too good to be true (loads of money etc.), often it features a dead wife and somehow the names just don't ring true (Captain John and his little daughter Kathy for example).

Over the years I've had various e-mails from people. They are often easy to spot when they are not coming from where they claim to be from. When they say they will pay £2000 per week is a good indicator that it's a scam!

Remember that employers of nannies pay a month in arrears. So there is no need to provide bank details until the contract has been signed - thus you provide bank details direct with them, in person.

Hmmm... Think name change is now in order...

i get lots of scams, both form greataupair and gumtree. i tried to report all of them but it takes so much time. they always have weird language and expressions. so far i only had two scams where i was not sure whether they are scams or not but after second email i was sure they are.

Totally agree with willowthewispa they nearly always involve a single dad with a business/job connection in Africa, wife is either dead or buggered off.Dad has a very English name like Fred Smith & kids sound like something out of an old school reading book ie.Janet & John or Peter & Jane.
You do tend to spot them a mile off!

Damn, it would appear that I am a scam according to SG.
