Tyre Slime

Has anyone used tyre slime for their pram tyres? I am so fed up of getting punctures and thought about using this. Does is affect the pram in anyway. I dont walk off-road, mainly on pavements for long walks and school runs etc. Thankyou

I used to use it on my Urban Detour and it did help a lot for small or slow punctures, not for big ones though. There is also a strip that you can put between the tyre and the inner tube that stops things getting through to the inner tube and puncturing it. I can't remember what it's called unfortunately.

Many thanks for your reply Bran. Have bought the 'slime' so hope to use it at the weekend. I also have an Urban Detour and Jane Powertwin amongst other prams!!! Hope to be puncture free next week!

Put some newspaper down when you're putting it in, that stuff is a bugger to get out of carpet .

Whoops why did my "grin" face not appear - oh well never mind!

We used the plastic strip and the slime as I was getting punctures every week. I have not had another one since I put it in about 2 years ago. Can't say I noticed any difference in the pushing.

QueenFee and nannyL thank you for your replies. I still havent got round to using it! Had a busy 2 weeks. Having struggled this morning with the pram (felt like I was pushing a horse!) the slime will be used at weekend definately. NannyL - I too have struggled with punctures in both my double prams and on the same day (It was a nightmare day for me) and holding a little one too!
