Morning, not Good, just Morning.

DS has croup. So for the past couple of nights we have been awake with him and his really sore sounding peculiar cough. And that was on top of my waking at 4am Monday morning listening to the rhythmic sounds of DH's snoring. I am so tired

DS is not too bad, but the poor soul is not a happy little boy.

I hope everyone else is fine! After my me me me me me me me post....

We will be staying in today and i reckon the CBeebies will be getting a look in!

No4, how many little ones do you have today? Could you get hem to all rest at the same time and try to sit still then? or do you have big ones as well?

We should be going to Thorpe Park, but it is wet so will see what happens - the children might not want to get wet bums on the rides!!!

Hopefully dh will be home on saturday, but not keeping my fingers crossed they have changed the dtaes before

eleanorsmum · 19/02/2009 08:15

No 4 - croup is horrid, poor lamb. DD has had it a few times and you feel so helpless, the only thing that worked with her was to bundle her in her duvet and stand next to an open window or the back door! Steaming is supposed to help too but we could never get enough steam to make a difference. Word of advice we had from nhs direct last time was not to give medised to a child with croup, they need to be not drowsy to help them breath deeper, plain calpol was the best. Heres hoping you have a restful day and a better night tonight!

Mums- didn't know thorpe park was open! We don't live far from there either (30mins) I assumes it wasn't open till the same time as legoland in march! Are all the rides open? how much is it? (runs off to google!)

Today could be my last day! But haven't heard from other mindee yet but i could potentially start on monday! I really wnat to but know I am pushing my lukc with the notice period If i don't hear from they by lunchtime i think i'll ring or is that being rude? I sent a little text last night just asking how the nursery visit went but had no reply.

mumsanutter · 19/02/2009 08:22

Its open from 10 to 5 this week and weekends until end of march. I know that it is £10 for children, but not sure about adult prices (£16.50 rings a bell), we have merlin passes so don't pay as such.

Good luck with the 'notice' and hope that you get the response that you want! Keep us informed - this is something I'd like to think abour doing when my youngest son goes to school.

mumsanutter · 19/02/2009 08:23

Opps sorry, not all the rides are open, octupus garden is, and then many the bigger rides . I think they sell it as a thrill week or something

eleanorsmum · 19/02/2009 08:29

thanks mums! found it online and yes looks like a restriced amount of rides. Not sure how tall dd is might have to measure her! Alot seem to be 1.4 m which I know shes not as I'm not much more than that

will def let you all know what happens, am very excited about doing this job! Just sorting through lots of toys and deciding which to sell and what to keep just in case!

mumlove · 19/02/2009 08:44

Morning everyone.

Not sure what we are doing todat yet as it's DD 1st day back after camp and I am not working so will ask her as she has only just got up (was very tired).

no4 - {{{{{hugs}}}}} lets hope tonight will be peaceful for you.

mums - put wet weather gear on and have fun.

em - hope you hear from mindee today.

eleanorsmum · 19/02/2009 16:44

I'VE FINISHED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mindee just left, i handed over a bg of bits and then got a lovely hug of dad, they really are going miss me I know. But I will prob see them as he grows because they will go to local school.

My new job for those that haven't heard is teaching assisatnt at dd's school! So stoked I got the job! and I start on monday! am really looking forwards to having time after school with dd to do some things together, we've had lots of invites round to other peoples houses now, could never g before due to having mindees!

Am sad in a way but also not. that chapter in my life is over and time for a new one, lots of memories good and bad. Am going to keep most of my paperwork as i might do overnight care to make ends meet. Or if we get blessed with another child (still trying!) then i might go back to cming but I might not wnat to give up my lovely new job! Time will tell.

Can I please still frequent in here? i promise I'll bring cakes and hot choc every so often.

May I thank all of you for your support over the last few years, it really has been a godsend having this place.

And as they say, "that's all folks!"
