Morning! Thanks for the pick me up yesterday - slight crisis of confidence there but feel better after some sleep. Despite a teething baby!

Hope you all have good days today

Morning all. Thought I'd pop in and say hello as I'm having a home day today (my baby not well AGAIN). Not been around much recently (having probs of my own but Drs given me something that will hopefully help). Hope everyone is well, nice to see you back crace

Hello everybody, I also haven't been around much, need a kick up the backside from you guys as I'm feeling sorry for myself.

A little background info: Lost a mindee going to big school, losing another in July as moving schools, losing two in August /sept as it's the end of their contract which isn't being renewed as one is starting school and just been informed that my other full time mindee may be moving house so might not come to me after march. So I could be totally mindeeless by September.

Not had any luck what so ever in replacing any mindees (have had a part time space available for 18 months with no joy). Had 12 appointments booked to see me at various times last yr and only two turned up -both plumping for nurseries.

To top all this one of my mindees (leaving August/sept) behaviour has become really horrid, doing things totally for attention (am ignoring bad praising good, star charts etc), becoming very rude and cheeky answering back etc messing at lunch times not eating etc and encouraging little ones to do the same. I have approached parents and got absolutly no support except to say well xx doesn't do this with us (which mindee does because I witness it everyday). Would dearly love to give mindee notice due to effect having on other miindees but due to losses expected this year I really can't. I have had this mindee for 2 plus years and love the child- just don't like the behaviour. Not sure why I'm writing all this but it feels better and not so bad to see it in writing.

Afternoon everyone.

Mindee is sleeping so quickly catching up.

I have a ad-hoc child coming tomorrow and friday so that will help pay for the car to be MOTed.
Was very cold doing the school run this morning but now the sun has come out so hopefully it has warmed up!

HSMM · 14/01/2009 13:49

hennipenni - I lost nearly all my mindees at once a couple of years ago (3 from one family), but more work appeared. I was a bit short for a while, and it was hard, but there are more children out there and more babies being born.

crace · 14/01/2009 16:28

Hello everyone! LT - how on earth do you cope??

Henni - having a nightmare myself filling spaces, can only think it's the current financial crisis affecting need for childcare, or making things worse certainly. Hang in there

Katy Bless you, hope you feeling better?

Hi ML and HSMM!

Day off today, after schoolie tomorrow and Friday - so natch you will be seeing less of me Got my hands full.. satisfyingly, but full nonetheless

Hi all! It's been a hectic day today! Had 4 under 3 and then 2 more rising 5's after school! I'm shattered! Having real issues with one of the rising 5's and it's wearing me down. Last week had incident at school where parent was called and then they called me to warn me. All this week has been silly at dinner time and spilled water all over the table and the floor (have now said that if it happens one more time they can have a baby cup as it is getting silly) and today at school was kept in til last as was being naughty at home time. I am going to have to have words with mum AGAIN.

Have parents coming to see me tomorrow evening about one day a week for a baby! I can only do one day a week but was looking forward to
actually having a bit of a break at that time when other mindees are a preschool! Will see as not too keen to fill the space, but it could be good so will see how it goes!

Sorry you're not feeling good at the moment Katy. I hope you start feeling better soon. I am glad today has been better Crace. hopefully some work will come your way soon. Hi to everyone else too
