is it right that you don't have to do observations or planning on over 5 year olds (until 31 august). what do other childminders do with over 5's.

I don't plan in the same way as I do for the EYFS age, but still have a rough idea what I am doing as usually the same sort of things after school.

Holidays I tend to plan otherwise they get bored more easily!

Under EYFS we should be doing obs and assessments until the 31st August following their 5th birthday, but I don't know any cms who are!! I have been - but my inspection is due so am aware that I need to 'tick the right boxes' when Ofsted come out! Don't know bout you, but my parents aren't in the slightest bit interested in obs and assessments ('Why do you have to do all that?' is what I hear frequently!!)
