I put an ad on gumtree a couple of months ago as part of my bid to recruit a new au pair for the new year. (Actually recruited from aupairworld again, but thought it was worth a try).
The gumtree ad clearly states that AP would need to help out at breakfast time, and look after the children 4pm-6.30pm each week day.
I've just been emailed from someone who lives about 20 mins drive away suggesting that my AP could earn extra money by looking after her kids after school one day a week (and that finding childcare is very difficult!)
I'm gobsmacked by the cheekiness (could understand it if my ad wasn't so clear about the times/days of duties).
I've replied with a list of websites where she can look for childcare/an au pair for herself, but still.... grrr.

she is probably desparate, millarkie! Agree it is a little insensitive.

I'm giggling now - I googled her, and her choice of career is very funny considering the circumstances..oh well, at least she's given me a laugh now.
