well one thing about being awake in the early hours, I have emailed all the people I need o including banks, NCM surestart Dr's Dentist to change my address!

I do seem to get a lot more admin done at 5 in the morning rather than any other time!

Maybe cos its quiet, no TV, no distractions

Morning!1

I am ill with a fluey type thing. Chest hurts when i breathe/cough.

Parents have said how lucky it is that i can be at home when i'm ill Yeah like i'll get lots of rest then.

Wish i worked in a "proper" job sometimes. You the kind where you drop the dc at the CM/nursery/school and then go home to bed to recuperate?

Ach well i finish up Friday so only 4 looooong days to go lol.

Gosh you have been busy!!

WhileShosheWatchedHerFlocks · 16/12/2008 07:10

Gal, we had that here last week, watch out for the D&V which seems to follow

Hope you can get some rest, think it is a case of Christmas DVDs and lots of sofa and liquids.

Morning!

What is it with all this illness?? I just recovered from D&V only to get a really nasty cold and now this morning (sorry tmi!!) my tummy is less than happy!

So many people off ill...

Oh well, aGal, as you say, only 4 days to go.

hiya, Shoshe, i just finished working on your handbook for my parents [hug and grin emoticon!]

aGalChangedHerName · 16/12/2008 07:18

When little mindee has her nap i will be on sofa with a duvet today and the dd's will watch DVD's.

God i hope no D & V!! The ds's and i were in bed ill with someting the same 2 years ago. Poor DH and DD1 sat downstairs all day alone with no Christmas dinner. Had given all the food to my db and his gf as they were meant to be coming to us

Why could i not have been ill last week when DH was on holiday

WhileShosheWatchedHerFlocks · 16/12/2008 07:22

At least if you are feeling dodgy now, girls, It should be over by Christmas.

I only have one who has had the cold and no D&V, and she is flying to Oman on Thursday night, I am praying she doesn't come down with it in the next two days, can you imagine flying with a child ill like that?

No.4 Glad it was some help.

OP posts:
aGalChangedHerName · 16/12/2008 07:26

Fingers crossed for me then that my poor dc or mindees don't get it. Better get dd's up. Dd1 will be wanting her finery on (hair and make up done) for her nursery party.

I don't wear make up and i am not a girly girl so i don't know where she gets the foofing around with herself from!!

Hope you all have a good day!!

NumberFour · 16/12/2008 07:30

Yes, that's my reasoning too: rather be off colour now and be better by 6pm Friday 19 December 2008! Yip, I am SO looking forward to a break!

LOL at aGal! Good luck with the foofing

WhileShosheWatchedHerFlocks · 16/12/2008 07:34

The little girl who is off to Oman, is a foofer and her Mum is a Army Sgt Major, who not a foofer

Mindee walks in in the morning with foofing equipment and gives me the brush

OP posts:
SammyK · 16/12/2008 07:56

I feel crappy too. all achey like flu but with a stonking head cold. I'm hoping my lemsip max strength kick in.

arf at foof - in our house that word means something totally different!

aGalChangedHerName · 16/12/2008 08:00

Lol at foof meaning something else,i only thought about that after i posted. Well DD1 is foofing as we speak. Choosing what to do with her hair and what lippy to wear lol.

eleanorsmum · 16/12/2008 08:00

morning all. we've got antibitoics now - fridge is like a pharmacy! hoping they kick in before xmas! hadn't connected my iffy tum to the cold but makes sense too! not d+v but loose (sorry!).

busy day today - got three this morn then 4 over lunch and three this pm! taking three pm ones to toddler xmas party at church which should be fun.

some of you may have seen my thread yesterday about leaving cming, i'm very confused at the moment! not sure which age group i want to work with as a career! am hoping 2 weeks off over xmas will give me time tot hink and decide....

hope you all have good day

exits leaving vicks vapo rub, olbas oil, and ultra balm tissues for all!

southernbelle77 · 16/12/2008 09:07

Oh my goodness, not sure I want to come in today with all those germs swimming about. I hope you all get better before christmas!

I have had a REALLY bad headache for ages now. I keep not doing anything about it but it has got so bad now that I have had to make an appointment. It first started after I had my miscarriage in June and thought it was related as they did seem to go away, but now they are back with a vengence and I can't cope My dads wife (used to be a nurse) said it sounded like neuralgia and having read about it (always a bad idea!) it does sound like that but will see what the doctors says (last time they fobbed me off but this is NOT normal).

Anyway, off to drop in when mindees arrive (already had text to say going to be late!!)

southernbelle77 · 16/12/2008 09:19

Just looked up on NHS direct about symptoms and it says to call 999 immediately! Ok, head hurts but not going to call an ambulance! Hope it's not that bad !!

NumberFour · 16/12/2008 09:35

eleanorsmum, are you still doing the EYPS? How is that going? I start on 8 Jan with 6 month course

mumsanutter · 16/12/2008 09:41

Mums pokes her head around the door to make sure its ok to come in....(germs!!!)

Sorry to read that so many of you are suffering. Ds1's school has been closed because of the novovirus, but hopefully we haven't caught it (finger crossed emotion), but ds3 is still quite low with flu type symptoms - so hopeing that I don't get this!

Unsure if to go to the network christmas thing tomorrow - give me your advice ladies.

Off to hospital for my ultrasound later, so sitting on the sofa now having cuddles with the sick one and trying not to think about it.

eleanorsmum · 16/12/2008 09:43

no4 yes i am at the moment - its a great course, but i'm finding it hard to do as a childminder. its the whole leading others that becomes a challenge when you work on your own! I have led a few childminders in some new things which counts but i feel like i'm only touching the surface compared to nursery workers.

I am debating whether to continue with it in the new year but not because its too hard or because its bad but because i'm having a meltdown over what i wnat to do with my life!

where are you doing it? i can let you have some of my books if i do give it up, they're hardly used so can let you have them for what i paid if you're interested!

COOLiciclepuddleonfloor · 16/12/2008 09:44

Morning all (walks in wearing a surgical mask). Ive had to close as my DS has come down with the D & V virus, ear infection and has already suffered a cold for 2/3 weeks. Its just not fair for the little ones.

I cant remember the last time he ate normally . At the moment he is eating Pringles. I know that they are crap not good for him, but id rather he had something in him than nothing.

Hope everyone else is better before Christmas. I cant wait ho ho ho.

Oh before I wander off, did anyone see that ridiculous idea on GMTV yesterday morning, you know when they do the 1 minute craft. They made choc crispy cake rings to hang on the Christmas tree . Can you imagine the mess when they melt and fall to pieces on your carpet.

I can just see my kids and dog having a good old munch on them. One of the craziest things ive heard. (apologies being sent to those who liked the idea and made them).

NumberFour · 16/12/2008 09:51

EM, I am doing it at Kingston Uni. Where are you doing it?

NumberFour · 16/12/2008 10:02

cooletc, hope your LO feels better soon!

vInTaGeVioLeNcE · 16/12/2008 10:09

ds went to his preschool party today dressed as dr.who! he breaks up today .

i have a huge list of things to do but no get up and go -

i have a mindee all day thurs but he has been sick in night, tail end of d&v bug i wonder if i should cancel him? we had him last monday so might already have his germs . . . . . really don't want to be ill for christmas.

LOONEYsingingachristmasTUNEy · 16/12/2008 10:42

Morning all.

Vi - know the feeling about no get up and go, I haven't bought ANY Christmas presents yet and was planning to when off next week but now we have nan's funeral, I won't be able to do that. As for mindee, cancel them. If a mindee is sick here they go home and yes, we'd probably have the germs anyway but doesn't matter. Oh, just re-read that, you mean Thursday. Errrr, if it was me I'd have them if 48 hours had passed so that means only if they are not sick again.

Will try and read other messages later, bit hungover this morning and can't read much or makes me feel sick (I know, self inflicted!!). Ds1 is now on the ferry to France with my db, can't believe we won't see him til Saturday!

Catch up later x

WhileShosheWatchedHerFlocks · 16/12/2008 12:54

I have a dilemma tho, all my children finish on the 19th, all but one not back till the 12th, we move on the 9th.

Do I tell Them

OP posts:
NumberFour · 16/12/2008 12:57

Shoshe, do they not know at all that you are moving or just that they don't know when?

WhileShosheWatchedHerFlocks · 16/12/2008 13:02

they know we are but till yesterday we didn't know which house or definitely when

Its only across the road I could stand and laugh at them, when they turn up to a empty house

I am orrible!

OP posts:
NumberFour · 16/12/2008 13:27

LOL! I would go for the Stand and Laugh approach!!

"Oi! Over 'ere, matey!" or something like that (bearing in mind my Safrican roots!)
