Hi, apollogies if this has been done before but, I am thinking of working as a nanny 2 days per week (I was a nanny about 8 years ago) and I would like to be CRB checked, how do I go about this? It looks like a company needs to apply on my behalf!
Any help appreciated.

If in England, register with Ofsted as a nanny (home childcarer in Ofsted speak).

Ring some local nanny agencies, they are usually happy and able to do it for you, they will charge the full cost and maybe an admin fee as well.

If you are going to register with an agency you can do a CRB through them cost around £40 I think.

If you are likely to register with Ofsted (a lot of parents require this) then the CRB is done with this.

Thanks! I had a look at the ofsted website, and it mentions qualifications such as the core values course. Any ideas how I can do this course? does it take long to complete?
Many thanks for your help.

It's a 2 day course - and it can aso be done distance learning. I did mine through MNT training. [[http://www.mnttraining.co.uk/ mntwebsite}}
