How do you all meet the 13 EYFS profile assessment scales?? I am sure this has been done to death, but I am just catching up. Apologies if this is obvious!

Well I'm sure I call it something else...because I'm not quite sure what you mean

I am so so so confused Katy but this is a blurb from the EYFS website:

"The EYFS Profile is a way of summing up each child's development and learning achievements at the end of the EYFS. It is based on practitioners' ongoing observation and assessments in all six areas of Learning and Development. Each child's level of development must be recorded against the 13 assessment scales derived from the early learning goals. Judgements against these scales, which are set out in Appendix 1 of the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage, should be made from observation of consistent and independent behaviour, predominantly children's self-initiated activities."

Apparently this has to be completed by the last term after turning 5!

That's for reception isn't it.....?

crace · 05/12/2008 22:04

Oh, is it? I took it as we all have to have it completed by the time they turn five and hand it over to school. I would be happy to be told I am wrong!

Erm...not sure sorry

NumberFour · 05/12/2008 22:08

crace: be happy!

Hoorah! One less thing to worry about, but frankly they hardly make it clear! It doesn't say year 1 until I got well onto another site. Nightmare.

Thanks as always x
