Morning all

Tea and coffees in the pots with some lovely warm croissants - help yourselves.

I need some advice actually......mindee last week showed signs of bug then next day other mindee ended up sick too. The 1st ill one not due back til tomorrow, other mindee was fine after Friday so came back yesterday. Now ds1 has done the same sort of poo as the first ill one did last week, although he's fine in himself. When she did this, she was sick the next day so I'm keeping him off school so not to spread it (hopefully). What about having mindees? If they've already had it, do I still need to keep them away?

If you're keeping ds off because he may have a bug i'd ask the parents and see what they want to do x

NumberFour · 02/12/2008 08:14

always such a difficult question! i have the same thing every now and then.

also ask yourself whether you want to cope with other children while your own is so ill!!

NumberFour · 02/12/2008 08:15

shoshe? you okay?

looneytune · 02/12/2008 08:36

Thanks guys. Ds1 is absolutely fine and wants to go to school, to soft play, to make things at home, whatever basically!!! So from that pov, I'm fine to work. Only keeping him off as I know we have something going round.

Phoned parents and the one who hasn't had it still wants to send her but understands she may get it so fine (having said that, last time I had a bug, I was sick 4 times whilst this baby was here and she still didn't get it!). The other parent of one that did end up with it was going to chat to her dh and then either turn up as usual or phone to say not coming. I haven't heard back so presuming coming.

Anyway, how is everyone on this cold and frosty morning?

Yes, lovely, DH started nights last night (he works at the PO in is off season) and came in as I got up, so I actually had to talk to him!!!!!!!!!!

Sent him off to bed at 7.30, then had to sort my bag as off to soft play this morning, and then phone DF as he is 81 today

mumsanutter · 02/12/2008 08:54

morning,

Looney - I hope that everything is alright for you and ds.

Shoshe - imagine having to talk to dh - I just rung mine and hopefully he might be back early!!!

No4 - are you going on 17th? I've booked my babysitter so I'll be there.

LMG - morning

I'm still feeling really weird - one minute low and feeling sick and the next feeling fine and rushing around doing everything. Suppose thatthis will continue until I've had the tests etc and gone back to the doctor. One good thing, by having no appetite, I might lose a little more weight before Christmas

KatyMac · 02/12/2008 08:54

Morning all

We are panicking slightly - DD needs indian & china tea for guides....I use Tetley

How tricky for you LT

mumsanutter · 02/12/2008 08:55

Katy - when does she need it by? and where are you? I think I may have some that I could post to you

KatyMac · 02/12/2008 08:56

8:30 tonight - DH is going shopping (I can't go - I jhave a mum coming to see me) & he needs a decent description if he is to buy it from Tesco (if they sell it)

You know how men 'look for' things

mumsanutter · 02/12/2008 08:58

It should have it written on the box, or get him to ask customer services and they might be able to get him the boxes straight away.

KatyMac · 02/12/2008 09:00

Now that is just silly - when have you ever known a man to ask someone for directions/where something is?

MEN

southernbelle77 · 02/12/2008 09:15

Morning all. Quick dash in before heading out to drop in (waiting for mindees to arrive). One mindee here who came with no coat so HE is wearing one of DD's old ones!!

Hope you all have nice days in this freezing cold weather! Has anyone up north got snow today? Hope ds is ok LT. hope you are ok too mums. Would say try not to worry, but that seems silly in the circumstances as it must be hard not to. Hugs

Catch up later x

SammyK · 02/12/2008 09:22

Hi everyone

SB - no coat!!!!
I get the no coat situation too but never in this temperature!

DS has another dentist appointment this aft, it is a pre-op one, he needs 3, maybe four teeth out! I have to take mindees with me so hope he is ok, wish I could afford afternoon off. Sigh.

Hope you all have a good day.

SammyK · 02/12/2008 10:34

Ouch! Poor mindee has nasty injury looks like a burn?!? that mum just dropped and ran, have filled in EI form and text her to tell her I need it signing. Looks really painful.

Arfa · 02/12/2008 10:52

Morning everyone. Sorry to butt in, but my latest posting on this thread is well worth looking at.

saz73 · 02/12/2008 11:21

Hi, Little silly question, got a pending inspection, well the inspector keeps ringing, i'm not in and says she would phone back , hopefully she won't till after xmas. But knowing how patheic ofsted are, I'm wanting to put my christmas tree up with the kids help, does anyone do / now if we have to do a risk assessment ??

Arfa · 02/12/2008 11:28

I'm not sure, but I would think you probably do.

One thing my wife does is to put bows that have real bells on them onto the lower branches. That way if she is in another room and hears the bells she knows one of her charges is about to get up to mischief.

LoveMyGirls · 02/12/2008 12:13

Hi again, still no children here my dd2 stayed at grandmas last night, dd1 is at school, baby mindee had the morning off and i'm waiting for him to arrive, another older mindee is at school, lastly mindee had the morning off and has ended up falling asleep and has a docs appt so it's very quiet here.....feels very strange.......

SammyK - poor mindee!!
Arfa - Thanks have read that and it does make a few things a bit clearer.
SB - fancy not sending a coat
KM - Men and shopping, grrr!
mums- hope you feel better soon x
Shoshe - Lol at you sending your dh to bed
No4 - Hi
LT - Hope he's not going to be ill

My dd has gone to school fine today (after getting herself sent home yesterday, I think she is possibly a bit sniffly but she had not been sick as she claimed, don't think she'll be trying that trick again)

hpgoneforgood · 02/12/2008 15:03

ARRGGGHHH, having stayed in all afternoon for a PP, got everything organised, craft activity on the go for mindee who's with me, paperwork on display, tidied up , they didn't turn up, no phone call, nothing. Do these people think we have nothing more to do with our time?

ToysAreLikeDogs · 02/12/2008 18:36
