I think that would be lovely

Chatkins · 28/11/2008 20:19

I think she would feel truly valued and appreciated, and it would be lovely of you !

blushingm · 28/11/2008 20:22

oh good thanks for your replies

i will set about ordering 2 bottles.

last year i got her a scarf and to be honest she's more of a good friend now than just a cm - she's had ds for over 6 years now and both ds and dd love her and her family to bits

That is so lovely - although people warn about becoming 'friends' with your parents, (i cm too) I think its fantastic if that sort of relationshop can develop, especially over 6 years !

blushingm · 28/11/2008 20:29

chatkins - what do they 'warn' you about [nosey/nervous emotion]

O only because it can complicate things with money and other issues - I have only been a cm 3 years and have heard this a lot, but I personally prefer to be able to view my parents as friends, or at least people you get on really well with ! Its probably just scare stories from people who have become pally and then fallen out for some reason. I think one of the things that makes cms stand ut above nurseries is the opportunity to build a close bond/relationship with your childcarer, which you don't really get with a nursery.
Sorry if made you nervous!
If you are friends thats great, and says alot about you and your cm, and above all, its beneficial for kids to see their carers all get on !

thanks chatkins - i'd never thought about it like that - i suppose situations like money can get uncomfortable of awkward.

It can - I have one parent who pays late and in dribs and drabs, but tbh I don't mind as she is lovely, I adore her son, and would never want to lose them, and I always get the money eventually. The others all pay on time in full, so it doesn't hurt me if this one is later. Plus I know she really appreciates me and recommends me a lot and talks about me a lot which is always good for business !

blushingm · 28/11/2008 20:52

i'd never ever ever ever ever ever ever pay late - i transfer directly to her bank on pay day

oh and i definately appreciate her
