Au pair question

The question being: when looking for an au pair is it etiquette to register with more than one agency at once?

I'm talking proper agencies (where you pay a big fee once you get one, rather than ones that are just websites). Am asking in case there is a local au pair agency grapevine and if I registered with more than one the others would find out....don't want to piss anyone off....

Thanks!

I did, after all you're paying good money so there's nothing wrong with a spot of competition!

Agree with Hobbity.

When looking for my new AP I registered with about 7 agencies and looked at the on-line sites. I used a mixture of local and London based agencies. It seems that different agencies specialise in APs from different countries.
