Have things with Space Rocket been bad today Jura? Guess by your comment that it has come to termination time. Good luck with that. Do tell us all about it, once the deed is done.

Do you need a driver? If not, I know of a great french girl who I think is still looking..19, law student. 6 months.

HarrietTheSpy · 22/08/2008 23:36

I'm curious whether you've gone off the whole au pair idea, back to nanny.

nannynick · 23/08/2008 00:43

Good to hear that she agreed it wasn't working.
So where does that now leave you... another au-pair, nanny, or some other soluition?

AtheneNoctua · 23/08/2008 13:56

Is that all we get? Not exactly the juicey bit of I gossip I was poised for.

Oh well, glad she took it well.

Soooooo..... what is plan B? au pair? nanny? Become a SAHM?

Hi Jura - sorry to hear it hasn't worked out. Our last nanny left in May and we have survived intact since then but I do think that we may reconsider our summer holiday arrangements for next year. Our present approach (daily cleaner who does the school collection and cooks tea) works well in term time but the children need a little more attention in the holidays than she is trained/equipped to give them and I'm left feeling a bit guilty about not being there more.

In my experience the first week of any new arrangement is fraught and it generally settles down a bit thereafter - but I've never had anyone forget to feed the children and it sounds like your troubles weren't just teething problems.

Hopefully you'll get sorted soon - I don't envy you the horrible process of change.

Oh No Jura. I've been following your posts as we have just made the transition from nanny to au pair too. Hope you can find a replacement soon (one on planet Earth this time). Good luck.
