How do I give notice?

Basically (see other thread), I've had enough of these particular parents. If I give notice are they required to pay me for 4 weeks if they find another childminder in that time? I'm confused as it's me ending the contract not them.

OK forget this one - she's just phoned me and given notice - apparently she wants a childminder who will look after a sick child.

So the mum is going to need a nanny who will cost a lot more.

I have always thought that if you (cm) gives notice and the parents find other care before the 4 weeks are up then cm would have to agree to this and not get paid the full amount. But always get the full 4 weeks if a parent gives notice.

wonder who she will get to look after her child - not sure many cm's or nurseries will take a sick child, so as mumlove said, she will be on the hunt for a nanny - which will cost her a lot more in childcare costs - esp overtime if late!!

not your problem GTG - hope you manage to fill your space AND with parents who come home on time!!!!

My last c/minder would have taken any child, temperature, throwing up, measles...

She even told one mum she minded for that she could care for their sick child better than the parent could as she had more experience.

I dumped her when dd had a contagious rash & she still wanted to mind her...

I wonder if your client would like her number?
