What does employing a nanny actually cost you beyond your salary?

We are about eight months in and only just feel like we have a handle on the full picture. Payroll service, pension contributions, employer NI added up to quite a bit more than we budgeted for initially.

We did check the Tax-Free Childcare scheme and still working through whether the Ofsted registration is worth doing to access it.

Just curious what the real numbers look like for others and whether anyone has found a way to make the whole thing feel less like juggling several different bits at once.

I use Nanny Tax - I pay annual fee for this - HMRC, NEST, annual insurance and net salary direct to the nanny.
It is relatively unusual for people employing a nanny to be entitled to tax free childcare, the major reason for OFSTED registration.
