Maternity Nanny Available

Hi, I am a mature, experienced Nanny who is changing career to become a Maternity Nanny. I have been working with children since I graduated university in 1998 and have had experience with all ages. I have been doing some Night Nannying with newborn twins and a single baby, and am looking for more work to increase my overall experience. I have a Paediatric First Aid certificate, CRB, full clean driving license, checkable references and a commmitment to working with newborn babies.

At the moment I am available for Night Nannying. I am booked to do the MNT course in July and will be available for full-time Maternity work from then.

Please contact me if you are interested,

Thanks.

Don't forget to tell us where you are

You could advertise on gumtree, I got my last maternity post from there. Good luck.

Hi sorry - good point - I am in Essex but am happy to travel for work.

I have a post on Gumtree but not many positions around in Essex so thought I'd try on here as well.

Poshtottie - whereabouts are you located? Do you get lots of work? I'm just starting out so have loads of questions....

melinda, I registered with a couple of agencies. There isn't much work in my area which is Dorset so have had to travel. I have only done positions which are two to three weeks as I have a ds who is nearly two so I don't like to be away from him for too long.

Can I ask what agencies you registered with, as a newbie to Maternity Nursing want to go with ones that will be able to get me work even though not hugely experienced

I registered with tigerlily, though haven't had any work from them yet as my first aid has just expired and need to renew before they will place me. Also with eden nannies. There is a couple that take trainees, one of which is maternally yours. I am also relatively new to this aswell, its been quite frustrating getting started but I really like the flexibility. Maybe we could chat sometime.

do those agancies require a full 12 hour peadiatric course or will a normal 4 hour first aid course be sufficient?

Surreynanny · 15/06/2008 13:07

Try Tanya at Maternal Response www.maternalresponse.co.uk She often has work for trainees and covers nationwide. In my view one of the best agencies around, lots of support and send you for jobs that match both you and clients requirements. I would suggest that a full 12 hour first aid course is required.Any other questions I can help with do ask

Great thanks everyone. Am really nervous about making the change from nanny to Maternity nurse so would be great to chat with other Maternity Nurses. Are any of you on Facebook?
