I really don't understand. I have been trying to find a Nanny position for over two months now and to no avail

Let me explain. I was working for a lovely family for six months, living with them. After three months, the mother of the family had a baby. I stayed for three months more (although my contract was only for those three months) until she felt ready and able to handle everything alone.

Since then, I have moved back home (more painful than you can imagine) and worked two mornings a week for the lovely family. I have been searching since then for a new job, but for some reason have only been able to secure the odd night's babysitting.

Don't get me wrong, I'm more than happy to babysit, but as I mentioned above, living at home is a real pain! Very big family, very small house, two months on the sofa.

I found a job which I thought was perfect, until the woman decided that she didn't have to pay me - don't even get me started.

My point is, I am so desperate to start working properly again! Children are my passion, always have been. I have over 18 months experience with children of all ages, am CRB checked, have a first aid certificate and am soon going to be OFSTED registered, so why oh why is it so difficult for me to find work?

I know you're all probably used to posting sympathetic responses to poor mothers, but I really feel lost right now and would love some help!

I live in Hackney, on London Fields. I am more than happy to work in surrounding areas (Stoke Newington, Clapton, Newington Green, Bethnal Green, Islington etc.)

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi rollsroyce.

Yes there does seem to be a few jobs out there that offer what I am looking for. I'm particularly looking for 3 days a week with a child under 5. There are quite a few with school aged children but I like to have a littlie at home to keep me occupied and bring out the child in myself

Had a v positive interview this eve. Just the sort of job I'm looking for. Mum is going to phone me tomorrow. I haven't met the children yet, but they sound adorable. Very clued up parents that asked the right questions and know what they are looking for.

Fingers crossed.

I registered with Tinies 7 years ago and they still send me daily emails with jobs listed in my area. ( Herts) There are lost of good jobs out there. When I read them I often thin ( for all of 2 minutes!) should I go back to nannying or stay a childminder.

Today they wanted Mother's help £7 and hour net, new born and 3 year old.

I suggest you look at the site and register your details. Good luck

We are on a farm in rural Perthshire which my DH and I work ourselves. We have an 11 month old baby and our daughter is 11 (with SEN).
We have tried to get help with the children while we are working as well as moving house (to another one on the farm).
We are a nice family but it is very quiet here due to being out in the sticks with no neighbours.
There is a detached cottage available on the farm which has recently been renovated so is private and clean.
We are exhausted trying to do too much as we have the baby with us when we work or one of us works as the other looks after the little one.
We need help as soon as possible.
