Non-economic criteria selection

I don't seem to be getting anywhere with finding out about the non-economic criteria for my two year old, when it comes to free childcare. I'm wondering whether anyone knows about the section about disability? What counts as a disability?

It feels as if the government don't want parents to find out about this type of criteria and haven't trained their employees to know anything about it. They told me to contact my county council. But I'm guessing that when I contact the county council, they will tell me to contact the government department. Thank you

The 2 yr old disadvantaged funding for 15 hours is administered by local authorities, that is correct.

Google your LA and funding for disadvantaged 2 yr olds.

As stated above. The working family criteria is administered at a national level by childcare choices. The disadvantaged family funding is administered by the local authority. The big difference between the two will start in September when those eligible for the working family funding will receive 30hrs funding whilst those on the 2YO disadvantaged family funding will receive just 15hrs funding.

Your child will need to be in receipt of DLA to be eligible and you would need to apply with your local authority.

It’s not government criteria, it’s your local authority for this one.
