How to claim the free child care hours

Hi all,

I just wondered if anyone understand the finer details on how to qualify for the free childcare hours.

I technically earn over £100k (only just!!) but the only way I can add more into my pension would be to this manually. Would this still count as earning less than £100k or does it have to come from source on what my employer puts in my pension for me??

thank you so much for your advice and help!

As far as I am aware any pension payments count towards your net adjusted income. Can you not make additional voluntary contributions to your work place pension?

I can do manually just after they have paid me. My finance team won’t make additional payments at source for you, or enhanced payments more than what they already do. But if that also works then that is amazing

My understanding is that it needs to be before your net adjusted income, i.e. what ends up showing on your p60.. you could ask your finance team to clarify if these manual payments would fit that criteria. Otherwise if it is only just over the 100k I have seen people take unpaid leave to bring them under the threshold ?
