Hi,
I have just advertised locally for a mothers help from August and I have no idea how to go about paying them. Anyone have any idea what the going rate is? (we live in Somerset) I have advertised for help from AUgust as I will be 8 months pregnant with twins and have 2 DD's already that will be 20mts and 3.5yrs old. If they were full time (10 hours per day) should I offer a weekly gross salary or pay them an hourly rate? I am not expecting anyone qualified - just an extra pair of willing hands. I am hoping to get a college student in Sep for 2 days a week so would only need the help 3 days a week from then on. ANy advice much appreciated.

I would think that it really depends upon what type of person you end up employing. Some experience will probably be useful, as you won't want to have to explain everything.
