Waiting game

Yesterday one of my mindee did not turn up after the parent had said wd drop her later in the morning. no phone call to say she had changed her mind. today am still waiting for her to turn up. was supposed to be here at 7.30am. called her at 9.30 and she did not pick up her phone. really annoyed to be kept waiting. wanted to go out since my other mindee is off today. shall i just go out rather than spend the whole day looking thru the window. pls help

Just go out.

You cannot be waiting in for a child who is late, it interrupts your plans and is not fair on other mindees.

God yes....you should certainly go out. You are paid to mind children not wait for them.

You've been hugely reasonable but you do have a job to do now looking after the other mindee so should do whatever you would normally do and if the parent calls while you're out, it's totally their problem.

I have 'the hour rule' if they are not here by then, then I assume they are not coming.
